new posts weekly, hopefully…
Peach Galette
I love galettes. They’re so simple and easy to make yet they’re so pretty and delicious as well! Add peaches to this? Even better! :D
Raspberry Cake
I baked my own birthday cake for my birthday… haha. I made this exact same cake for another friend’s birthday a month ago and decided to make a video on it. It is SO. MUCH. WORK. But thankfully, my friends and family said they liked the taste of the cake. Hopefully, they weren’t being nice just because it was my birthday haha.
Compost Cookies
I first had a compost cookie when I visited my cousins in New York and they introduced me to Milk Bar. I was surprised. Chips and pretzels in a cookie? But I loved it. The salty crunch adds such a depth to the sweetness of a cookie. It was a flavor profile that, at that time, I was unaware of. These cookies, also known as kitchen sink cookies, are one of my favorites (and also my mom’s!).
Pistachio Pie
Pistachios are delicious. Pistachio pie? Even better! The nutty salty duo pairs so well with the sweetness of pastry cream to make a subtle but pronounced sweet and salty balance.
Burnt Basque Cheesecake
Have you ever had a Burnt Basque Cheesecake? This type of cheesecake went viral a couple years ago. I finally boarded the band wagon to try it out recently and I understand the hype. It’s so delicious!
Strawberry Crepe Cake
Crepe cakes are awesome because they do not require an oven. But they’re a lot of work… so much work… haha. I like this recipe that I made because you don’t need fresh strawberries that are in season. You just use jam and freeze dried strawberries for the filling.
Berry Galette
French galettes generally refer to any type of flat, round, or freeform crusty cake. In this case, I'm making galettes with fruit. I love making these as gifts for friends because not only are they extremely easy to make but they also look so pretty and rustic. All one requires is pie dough, fruit, sugar, and a thickener.
Earl Grey Pie
Have you ever had an earl grey pie? If you haven't and are a fan of anything earl grey flavored, then you definitely need to give this pie a try. It's the pie that my friends usually request for and is great for anytime but especially spring or summer!
Pie Dough
It’s pie dough! I prefer to use a food processor due to the ease of use and speed. Just a few pulses and the butter is incorporated into the flour! Pie dough is great due to the plethora of things you can make from it! Galettes, fruit pies, meat pies, cream pies, quiches. What do you like to make with pie dough?
Gochujang Caramel Cookies
I'm recreating Eric Kim's gochujang caramel cookies. I remember first seeing this recipe on NYT's cooking website and was so intrigued to try it.
